Childhood

The period of life ranging from Infancy to adolescence is termed as Childhood. This period is distinguished by swift progress in all domains of life including physical, psychological, emotional and social. The mental growth during this phase comprises character and personality formation as well as standard attachment systems. The early periods of childhood include language, basic trust, and sensorimotor stage. The middle period of childhood includes social, moral, and intellectual development. The outcome of this period is emotional flexibility, an optimistic self-view and healthy social relation. Childhood is the period when an individual attempts to understand the world and develop basic stance and mental frameworks. The early years are crucial because a child is surrounded by supportive and secured attachment figure. In this context, psychological neglect, trauma, and instability at this point in time results in emotional and behavioral issues later in life. This is why Childhood is most delicate and important phase of life for mental and emotional development.
